ENABLING RESTAURANT MODULE

Enabling the Restaurant Module

The Restaurant Module adds restaurant-specific features to IsleBooks POS, including:

  • Tables & Floor Plans

  • Kitchen Display System (KDS)

  • Open Tabs

  • Order Modifiers

  • Send to Kitchen

  • Restaurant Bookings

Enabling the Restaurant Module requires two steps.


Step 1 — Enable the Restaurant Module

First, enable the Restaurant module for your business.

  1. Go to Settings → Business Settings → Modules.

  2. Enable Restaurant Module.

  3. Click Save Changes.

This makes the restaurant functionality available throughout the system.


Step 2 — Enable Restaurant for a Business Location

After enabling the module, you must specify which business locations operate as restaurants.

  1. Go to Settings → Stores.

  2. Edit the desired business location.

  3. Scroll to the POS Settings section.

  4. Enable Restaurant Location.

  5. Click Save Changes.

Repeat these steps for every location that should use restaurant features.

Only locations marked as Restaurant Locations will display restaurant functionality.


What Happens Next?

After enabling the Restaurant Location option, IsleBooks automatically enables restaurant-specific features for that location, including:

  • Table Management

  • Floor Plans

  • Kitchen Display System (KDS)

  • Open Tabs

  • Send to Kitchen

  • Restaurant Orders

  • Restaurant Reports

Non-restaurant locations continue to operate as standard retail POS locations.


Best Practices

  • Enable the Restaurant Module only if your business serves food or beverages.

  • Enable Restaurant Location only for branches that operate as restaurants or cafés.

  • Retail stores and supermarkets should leave the Restaurant Location option disabled.

  • If your business has multiple locations, each location can independently operate as either a retail store or a restaurant.
