IsleBooks can notify your customers and your team over Email, SMS, WhatsApp and Telegram. Customer messages are driven by per-event templates; staff notifications are a separate per-user channel.
Notification templates (what customers receive)
Go to Settings → Notification Templates. For each event (new sale, payment received, and so on) you can customise the Email subject/body, the SMS text and the WhatsApp text, using placeholders that fill in the customer's name, invoice number and amounts. Each channel has its own auto-send toggle per event.
Emails are sent from the IsleBooks platform sender by default — nothing to configure. To send from your own address/domain instead, add your SMTP details under Settings → Business Settings → Email.
SMS
SMS uses your own MsgOwl account: enter your MsgOwl access key and your Sender ID (up to 11 characters, e.g. your shop name) under Settings → Business Settings → SMS. Once saved, events with SMS auto-send enabled will message your customers automatically.
WhatsApp (separate module)
WhatsApp is its own module and does not use the SMS gateway:
Go to Settings → Notification Channels → WhatsApp.
Connect your WhatsApp number — you verify it with a one-time code sent to that number.
Choose which business events you want pushed to you (for example stock expiry alerts, customer portal payment submissions, invoice payment submissions).
You can also send an invoice to a customer on WhatsApp manually from the sale's row actions in POS Orders / Sales.
Telegram (separate module)
Telegram works the same way: Settings → Notification Channels → Telegram, connect the IsleBooks bot to your account, and pick the events you want.
One channel per person
Each staff member chooses one personal channel — Telegram or WhatsApp — and all their notifications (their own and business events they're subscribed to) are delivered there.
