Accounting
Consultancy
Plumbing
Cleaning Services
Medical Services
Education
Transportation
Installation Services
Creating a Service
Go to Inventory → Create Product.
Enter the name of the service.
Examples:
Computer Repair
Haircut
Website Development
Accounting Consultation
Disable Enable Stock Tracking.
Since services are not physical products, IsleBooks POS will not maintain inventory quantities for them.
Tip: You may also enable Not for Selling or Inactive if you are preparing the service for future use.
Service Descriptions
If each service requires additional information, expand Custom Fields and enable a custom field suitable for recording service details.
Examples include:
Device fault description
Customer instructions
Work performed
Job reference
Service notes
These details can be entered during the sale and printed on the invoice if configured.
Selling a Service
Open the POS.
Search for and add the service to the cart.
Enter any required service information or notes.
Complete the sale as normal.
Since inventory tracking is disabled, selling the service does not affect stock levels.
Printing Service Details
If you want service notes or descriptions to appear on customer invoices:
Go to Settings → Invoice Settings → Invoice Layouts.
Edit your invoice layout.
Enable Show Sale Description.
Save the layout.
The entered service description will now be printed on invoices and receipts.
Combining Products and Services
Products and services can be included on the same invoice.
For example, a computer repair shop could create a single invoice containing:
Item | Type |
SSD 1TB | Product |
Windows Installation | Service |
Labour Charge | Service |
Only the physical products reduce inventory, while service items are billed without affecting stock.
This allows IsleBooks POS to support businesses that sell products, services, or both from a single system.
