PRODUCT WARRANTY

Product Warranties

Product Warranties allow you to automatically track warranty periods for eligible products from the date they are sold.

When a product with an assigned warranty is sold, IsleBooks POS records the warranty start date, calculates the expiry date, and allows the warranty information to be viewed later using the product's serial number, IMEI, or invoice number.

Tip: Product Warranties work best when used together with Product Serials / IMEIs, allowing each sold item to be tracked individually.

Enabling Product Warranties

  1. Go to Settings → Business Settings → Products.

  2. Enable Product Warranty.

  3. Save your changes.

Creating Warranty Types

Before assigning warranties to products, create one or more warranty types.

  1. Go to Inventory → Warranties.

  2. Click Add Warranty.

  3. Enter the warranty details, such as:

    • Warranty Name

    • Warranty Duration

    • Duration Unit (Days, Months, or Years)

  4. Save the warranty.

Example warranty types:

  • 30-Day Warranty

  • 6-Month Warranty

  • 1-Year Manufacturer Warranty

  • 2-Year Extended Warranty

Assigning a Warranty to a Product

  1. Go to Inventory → Products.

  2. Create a new product or edit an existing one.

  3. Select the applicable Warranty.

  4. Save the product.

All future sales of this product will automatically use the selected warranty.

Selling Products with a Warranty

When a product with an assigned warranty is sold:

  • The sale date becomes the warranty start date.

  • The warranty expiry date is calculated automatically.

  • Warranty information is linked to the sold product.

If the product also uses Serial Numbers or IMEIs, each individual item receives its own warranty record.

Viewing Warranty Information

After a product has been sold, warranty information can be viewed at any time.

Go to:

Inventory → Serials / IMEIs

You can search using:

  • IMEI

  • Serial Number

  • Invoice Number

The warranty record displays information such as:

  • Product

  • Customer

  • Invoice

  • Warranty Name

  • Warranty Start Date

  • Warranty Expiry Date

  • Warranty Status

This makes it easy to verify whether a product is still covered under warranty.

Displaying Warranty Information on Invoices

Warranty information can be printed on sales invoices.

To enable this:

  1. Go to Settings → Invoice Settings → Invoice Layouts.

  2. Edit the invoice layout.

  3. Enable:

    • Warranty Name

    • Warranty Expiry Date

  4. Save the layout.

New invoices will display the warranty details for eligible products.

Recommended Setup

For the best warranty management experience, enable the following features together:

  • Product Warranty

  • Product Serials / IMEIs

  • Batch Numbers (if applicable)

This allows every sold product to be uniquely identified, making warranty verification, servicing, and replacement much easier.
