DELETE PRODUCTS

Deleting Products

You can delete products individually or remove multiple products at once using the bulk delete feature.

Important: Products that have been used in purchases, sales, stock adjustments, or any other inventory transactions cannot be deleted. This protects the integrity of your historical records and reports.

Delete a Single Product

  1. Go to Inventory → Products.

  2. Locate the product you want to delete.

  3. Right-click the product or open the Actions menu.

  4. Click Delete.

  5. Confirm the deletion.

If the product has not been used in any transactions, it will be permanently removed.


Delete Multiple Products

  1. Go to Inventory → Products.

  2. Select one or more products using the checkboxes.

  3. Click Bulk Actions.

  4. Select Delete.

  5. Confirm the deletion.

All selected products that are eligible for deletion will be removed.


Products That Cannot Be Deleted

A product cannot be deleted if it has been referenced in any transaction, including:

  • Purchases

  • Sales

  • Opening Stock

  • Stock Adjustments

  • Stock Transfers

  • Manufacturing or Bundles

  • Returns

  • Any other inventory-related transactions

When this happens, the Delete option is disabled for both individual and bulk actions.

If you no longer sell the product, you can Deactivate it instead. Deactivated products remain in your records for reporting and audit purposes but are hidden from normal sales and purchasing operations.


Deactivate Instead of Delete

If a product has existing transaction history but is no longer needed:

  1. Go to Inventory → Products.

  2. Right-click the product or open the Actions menu.

  3. Click Deactivate.

The product will remain available in historical reports while preventing future use in day-to-day operations.
