Delivery Management Important Settings

Before using IsleBooks Delivery Management, it is recommended to configure the delivery-related settings below.


1. Configure Delivery Settings

Go to:

Settings → Business Settings → Delivery

Here you can configure how delivery notes and customer signatures are handled.

Auto-fill Staff Signatures

Enable Auto-fill staff signatures from My Signature if you want IsleBooks to automatically insert signatures on delivery notes.

When enabled:

  • Prepared By uses the cashier's signature.

  • Delivered By uses the assigned delivery staff's signature.

If a user has not configured a signature, IsleBooks prints their name with a blank signature line instead.


Customer Signature

Choose how customers acknowledge deliveries.

Digital (Recommended)

The customer signs directly on the delivery staff's device before the delivery is marked as completed.

The customer's name and signature are stored electronically and printed on the delivery note.

Manual

A delivery note is printed and the customer signs it using a pen.


Skip Signature

Optionally enable Allow skip signature with reason.

This allows delivery staff to complete a delivery without collecting a signature by providing a reason.

The reason is printed on the delivery note so there is a complete audit trail.


2. Configure Your Signature

If Auto-fill Signatures is enabled, each delivery staff member should configure their signature.

Go to:

User Management → My Signature

You can either:

  • Draw your signature using the signature pad.

  • Upload a transparent PNG signature.

Click Save Signature.

Your saved signature will automatically appear on delivery notes that you prepare or complete.


3. Configure Delivery Staff Permissions

Users performing deliveries should be assigned a role with the appropriate permissions.

Go to:

User Management → Roles & Permissions

For your delivery staff role, enable the required Delivery permissions such as:

  • View Deliveries

  • Manage Deliveries

  • My Deliveries (Self)

Only users with the appropriate permissions will be able to access delivery features.


Recommended Setup

For most businesses we recommend:

  • Enable Auto-fill Staff Signatures

  • Use Digital Customer Signatures

  • Allow Skip Signature with Reason only if your delivery process occasionally requires unattended deliveries.

  • Configure a signature for every delivery staff member.

  • Assign delivery staff using a dedicated Delivery Staff role with only the permissions they require.

Following these steps ensures delivery notes are professionally signed, customer acknowledgements are properly recorded, and every delivery has a complete audit trail.
